Current Opportunities: 

The Hub Plus Derbyshire Clinical Fellowship Programme 2025–27 

Over a number of years, our fellows have delivered important projects from lifestyle medicine, suicide prevention, cancer, health inequalities, leadership, research and many more. 

We are now inviting expressions of interest for a new cohort of Clinical Fellows to support transformational workstreams across general practice in Derbyshire. This programme is designed to foster compassionate, inclusive, and values-based leadership, while delivering meaningful projects that improve patient care, community engagement, and system efficiency. 

All fellows will be supported by The Hub Plus with leadership development, mentorship, and peer learning. Each fellowship will run for 12+ months, with fellows working 1–2 sessions per week alongside their clinical roles. There may be an opportunity for a 6-month extension subject to project progress, requirements and funding.

We are recruiting to the following fellowship opportunities: 

Creative Health Fellowship (x1 post) 

Purpose:

  • Co-create a local Creative Health strategy, embedding arts and culture into health and care delivery 

Activities

  • Partner with patients, artists, and cultural organisations
  • Showcase national best practices
  • Build community resilience through creative engagement 

Patient-Facing Education Fellowships (up to 2 roles) 

Purpose:

  • Improve health literacy and patient engagement through inclusive communications 

Activities

  • Collaborate with Public Health and ICB communications teams
  • Develop adaptable resources (blogs, videos, social media)
  • Support practices in delivering tailored messaging 

Digital Fellowship (x1 post) 

Purpose

  • Accelerating digital transformation in primary care 

Activities:

  • Support current digital team and provide clinical input into digital system design
  • Connect to digital pathway work
  • Deliver and design training 

General Practice Nurse Fellowship (x1 post)

Purpose

  • To play a key role in supporting and developing nursing talent, ensuring that knowledge and expertise remain at the heart of primary care

Activities:

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of a sustainable pathway for GPN legacy development
  • Offer guidance to nurses undertaking their Return to Practice qualification
  • Collaborate on General Practice Nurse development projects
  • Facilitate the GPN Forum

Research Fellowship (x1 post) 

Purpose

  • Increase and enhance Research activity in General Practice 

Activities:

  • Support current digital team and provide clinical input into digital system design
  • Connect to digital pathway work
  • Deliver and design training
